MEET OUR TEAM
Tim Bortner is currently a local business owner and 2016 graduate of Youngstown State University. While at YSU he focused on many areas, one of which was Graphic Design. He worked closely with YSUnity LGBTQIA+; Youngstown State University’s most visible and vocal GSA, for over 6 years holding different officer positions including President. Tim works very closely with the LGBTQIA+ population throughout the Mahoning Valley and is well known for his activism. Since graduating, he has kept strong relationships and networked with local LGBTQIA+ friendly businesses, and allies over the years. Tim helped to form BCC Full Spectrum Community Outreach Center because he saw a lack of services and resources for the LGBTQIA+ population in the tri-county and outlying areas. When he's not overseeing Full Spectrum's operations, he is busy at work running his very own carnival company. While fun events and graphic design are careers for Tim, helping the LGBTQIA+ community is his passion.
Director of Client Care
Steff Sobien is a lifetime valley resident and graduate of Ursuline High School and YSU. While having identified as part of the LGBTQ+ community since his late teens, he came out as a Transman and 2Spirit in 2020. Finally able to live authentically, his many different life experiences and family situation offer a unique perspective for our clients. He currently works in health insurance sales and is eager to connect Full Spectrum's clients with all kinds of available resources and gender/sexual orientation affirming care.
Director of Housing
Katie Tringhese-Salupo is a graduate of Ursuline High School and John Carroll University where she obtained her BA in Education. She currently runs her family’s business in Youngstown. She has previously coordinated the Immigrant Assistant Volunteers in Youngstown. She is a lifelong ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and strongly believes that our area needs transitional housing that would be a safe space for LGBTQIA+ people experiencing homelessness, where their basic needs can be met.
Michael Mock is a lifelong resident of Youngstown and a graduate of Chaney High School. He now serves as Branch Manager for the Newport Glen office of Premier Bank. With 10 years of industry experience, he assists his clients in various communities across the valley. Michael’s greatest passion in life is simply being a father. His three children mark his greatest accomplishment. In his free time, Michael enjoys running, biking, and volunteering. Coming out at the age of 26 as a gay man was no easy feat, but with love, support, and knowledge came acceptance and understanding. This is why it is so important to be an advocate for fellow LGBTQIA+ members in the valley.
Adult Peer Group Leader
Davina currently works in the IT department of Community Counseling Center of Mercer County. Previously she was a Master's Level Family Therapist at CCC. Before that she served as the pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Hubbard Ohio. After a life time of questioning, she is a recent member of the LGBTQIA+ community, only having discovered herself and come out as transgender in 2019. She earned her BA in Classical Civilizations from Florida State University in 1979, her Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 1983 and her MA in Clinical Counseling from Ashland Seminary in 2001. She is married with two adult daughters.
